Screen Archive South East (SASE) will be at Margate Pride on Saturday 13th August to encourage as many visitors to be a part of preserving the region’s queer history by depositing films with the archive.
We will be sharing information about the project, ways to get involved and our open call for films.
There will be cameras for people to capture photos of their Margate Pride experiences, and the opportunity to record your thoughts on the day to accompany them.
We’ve also created a map and are asking visitors to Margate Pride to (re)visit some of the locations found in the archive, and to film them as they are seen today, during Pride. Posing the questions; what has changed and what has stayed the same?

If you attend Margate Pride and would like to share your films with us, please send your digital films to us via our WeTransfer page: https://screenarchive.wetransfer.com
Or if you have films in any other format, please contact screenarchive@brighton.ac.uk
If you’ve attended any other Pride event across the South East and have films of it, or any other films you’d like to share with us, please send them to https://screenarchive.wetransfer.com or contact screenarchive@brighton.ac.uk
